August 2, 2012 - December 31, 2012
Special Exhibition: Included in regular museum admission

This special exhibition is a loving photographic diary of Roberta Price's seven years as a resident of Libre, a commune in the Huerfano Valley in southern Colorado.
What had begun as a grant-funded research project had become a personal journey, and her photographic record beautifully documents the work, play, relationships, and structures that made up this and other "back to the land" communities.
Now living in Albuquerque and working as an intellectual property attorney, Ms. Price is an award-winning author, speaker, and photographer. Her 2004 book Huerfano: A Memoir of Life in the Countercuture was chosen as one of the Top Ten University Press Books of that year, and her second book Across the Great Divide: A Photo Cronicle of the Counterculture won the Forward gold medal for photography books in 2010.
This exhibition concludes a four-venue tour at The Museum at Bethel Woods before Ms. Price's photo collection becomes a part of the Yale University Beincke Library permanent collection. The Museum at Bethel Woods is proud to be a co-sponsor of this exhibition tour along with 516 ARTS, Albuquerque, New Mexico.
The Museum at Bethel Woods presents two to three major special exhibitions each year, traveling exhibits from other museums or original exhbits curated by museum staff, that expand upon the themes of the museum.
Support for this Special Exhibition was provided by: Majestic Drug Co., Inc.
