County-Wide Picnic Day
celebrating Sullivan County's Bicentennial

Mark your calendar for this family oriented picnic-style event celebrating the Sullivan County Bicentennial. Join your neighbors for a day of fun, food and live local music.

  • Food and picnic baskets welcome
  • Lawn chairs, blankets and picnic items from home allowed
  • Food concessions and vendors will be open
The County-Wide Picnic Day, which will officially close the 2009 Bicentennial Celebration, will feature historical reenactors, historical and cultural displays from Sullivan County's towns and villages, children’s activities and three stages with live local music including local high school ensembles and many others. The West Point Band's Jazz Knights perform at 2:00pm.

THIS IS A NO ALCOHOL EVENT. Alcohol is not permitted inside gates and will not be sold.

West Point Band's Jazz Knights

The Heroes of Sullivan County Mural, by local artist Erica Hart will be on display throughout the day. This 4’ x 6’ mural celebrates nearly 30 local heroes who were nominated for inclusion by county residents. Most were nominated for their service to the community, while some were nominated for courage, generosity, or perseverance.Erica Hart, artist, was the 2008 recipient of the Artists in the Community Grant, a grant category funded through the Decentralization Program of the NYS Council on the Arts, administered by the DVAA.
