Lynyrd Skynyrd

The definitive Southern rock band, Lynyrd Skynyrd returns to Bethel Woods, bringing their southern blues-rock style and hard rock swagger to the stage. A special guest is still to be announced. Skynyrd catapulted to the national stage with the release of their triple-guitar rock opus, "Free Bird". In 1977, the band released their sixth album, Street Survivors, which, in the wake of the band's tragic plane crash, became one of their biggest hits. Lynyrd Skynyrd features original guitarist Gary Rossington and keyboardist Billy Powell, plus bassist Ean Evans, Rickey Medlocke (who played drums with Skynyrd for a short time in 1971) from Blackfoot on guitar, Johnny Van Zant on vocals, and Michael Cartellone on drums.

& His All Starr Band

For more than a decade Ringo Starr and His All Starr Band have been pleasing crowds with memorable rock-and-roll hits played by some of rock royalty's most talented, musical performers. The 2008 All-Starr Band line-up includes Colin Hay (of Men at Work), Billy Squier, Hamish Stuart, Edgar Winter, Gary Wright and Gregg Bissonette on drums.

No other single stage produces the hits like Ringo's All Starrs, each singularly accomplished in their own right. All of the All Starr artists complement Starr's musical style and share his message of peace and love. As Ringo said in a recent interview, "My live shows are a peace-and-love fest. That's my main promotion, really." Starr's latest album, Liverpool 8, was released on CD, digitally and on USB wristband on January 15 by Capitol/EMI. His most personal release in years, Liverpool 8's songs are a reflective journey through Ringo's storied life and career and feature some of his greatest songwriting to date. Co-produced and co-written with Dave Stewart, Liverpool 8's resounding message of peace and love will continue to resonate with All Starr audiences across the country when Ringo hits the road this summer for his first tour since 2006.

Since 1989, Ringo Starr's All Starr tours have rocked sold out venues with great musicians who share Starr's love of performing. All of the All Starrs lend their most popular songs to Ringo's already impressive hit list which includes such classics as "With a Little Help From My Friends," "Yellow Submarine," "Photograph" and "It Don't Come Easy."

British conductor Bramwell Tovey is music director of the Vancouver Symphony and chief conductor and music director of the Luxembourg Philharmonic Orchestra. His commitment to new music was demonstrated during his tenure as music director of the Winnipeg Symphony Orchestra in Canada, where he founded a new music festival and served as its artistic director for 10 years. He appears as guest conductor with ensembles such as the Los Angeles Philharmonic; Toronto, Montreal, and the City of Birmingham symphony orchestras; and the London Philharmonic, London Symphony Orchestra, and Royal Scottish National Orchestra. Mr. Tovey made his Philharmonic debut on October 28, 2000, on a Young People's Concert. He has returned for subscription concerts, and for the 2002 New York Philharmonic Time Warner Concerts in the Parks, in addition to conducting the Philharmonic at the Bravo! Vail Valley Music Festival in past seasons. He has been the only host and conductor of the Orchestra's annual Summertime Classics series. On July 1, 2006, he led the New York Philharmonic at the inaugural concert of the Bethel Woods Center for the Arts.

Joyce Yang began playing piano at age four and at age ten she entered the Korean National Conservatory, collecting many awards from numerous competitions in South Korea. In 1997, Ms. Yang moved to New York and began studying with Veda Kaplinsky at Juilliard. In 2005 she was awarded the silver medal at the Van Cliburn International Piano Competition, as well the Steven De Groote Memorial Award for Best Performance of Chamber Music, and the Beverley Taylor Smith Award for the Best Performance of a New Work; earning international acclaim as the competition's youngest participant.

The new Arts Under the Stars series will be presented at the 1,000 seat Terrace Stage. This new program is designed to bring the community together in a stylish open-air setting, for a high quality, affordable and diverse mid-week arts series. Select artists will present an encore performance for local children, adding an important educational component to the series and allowing for audience participation and youth engagement in the arts. The Terrace Stage, designed in the style of a roman amphitheater, is located adjacent to The Museum at Bethel Woods, which is scheduled to open in June. Tickets will be affordable, priced between $20 and $30. All performances are general admission, Guests are invited to come early and enjoy the Museum Bistro.

Steely Dan

Steely Dan defies all rock and roll conventions. Walter Becker and Donald Fagan created a sophisticated, distinctive sound which blends jazz, traditional pop, blues and R&B featuring melodic hooks, complex harmonies and superb production. Though the band didn't perform live from 1975 until the early ‘90s, their records retained a cult following.

Steely Dan's popularity continued to grow throughout the seventies, as their albums became critical favorites and their singles became staples of AOR and pop radio stations. Even after the group disbanded in the early '80s, their records retained a cult following, as proven by the massive success of their unlikely return to the stage in the early '90s. In early 2000 the duo issued Two Against Nature, their first new studio album in two decades which reached #6 on the Billboard 200. In 2006 they released The Definitive Collection featuring its biggest hits including "Do It Again," "Reeling in the Years," "Rikki Don't Lose That Number," and radio hits "Bodhisattva," and "My Old School".

Donna Summer

Queen of Disco in the 70s, Donna Summer will bring her pop/dance/rock sound to Bethel Woods audiences this summer. Her hybrid of American soul and European synthesizer based music reached its peak in 1980 with the release of the critically-acclaimed album, The Wanderer. Her success was rivaled in the disco world only by the Bee Gees. In 2004, she was among the first artists inducted into the Dance Music Hall of Fame. Two of her most recent singles, "You're So Beautiful" (2004) and "I Got Your Love" (2005) reached the Top 10 on both the Billboard Hot Dance Airplay and Hot Dance Music/Club Play charts. On May 20, Summer will release her first album of new material in 17 years, Crayons, on May 20. Remixes of the track "I'm A Fire" have reached #9 on the US Dance Chart; the first official single, "Stamp Your Feet", will be released this month.

One of the original jam bands, the Steve Miller Band emerged from San Francisco's summer of love with a distinct sound that has proven to be timeless. Still a mainstay of the summer concert season, the band will launch a 37-city North American tour on May 24th in West Palm Beach, FL. (The band recently played three amazing shows at San Francisco's Fillmore, which sold out in under an hour.) As fresh and vibrant as ever, the Steve Miller Band melds rock, blues, jazz and pop in its own inimitable style, attracting a fervent, multi-generational audience that knows that, in addition to hits from its extraordinary catalog -- "Take the Money and Run," "Rockin' Me," "Jet Airliner," "The Joker," "Fly Like An Eagle," "Livin' in the USA" and "Abracadabra," to name but a few -- the band always comes through with numerous surprises in concert such as obscure fan favorites, classic blues standards and breathtaking improvisations.

The legendary Joe Cocker, whose Classic Cocker was released by EMI last year, will be the special guest. British white-soul singer Joe Cocker parlayed Ray CharlesPish vocals and an eccentric stage presence into a string of late-'60s hits, culminating with an appearance at the Woodstock festival in 1969. In the '80s and '90s he became a well-respected interpreter, and his gritty, powerful voice remains one of the most distinctive in rock & roll.

The 300 seat indoor Events Gallery is located in The Museum at Bethel Woods breathtaking nonagon. Known for their slick-sounding singles and appealing to a more youthful demographic, Rascal Flatts feature Gary LeVox (born July 10, 1970), Jay DeMarcus (born April 26, 1971) and Joe Don Rooney (born Sept. 13, 1975).

In 2006, the trio released "Me and My Gang" and played for more than a million fans on their tour. Hits from the album include "What Hurts the Most," the title track and "I Wish." That same year, Rooney married Playmate of the Year Tiffany Fallon. They also had a country hit with "Life Is a Highway," from the animated movie, Cars. They also won their fourth CMA vocal group award in 2006.

Taylor Swift grew up on a farm in Wyomissing, Pa. Inspired by her maternal grandmother, a professional opera singer, Taylor took up singing early in life. At 10, she began performing around town at karaoke contests, festivals and county fairs, and even recording rough demos at a studio. At age 11, she performed the national anthem at a Philadelphia 76ers NBA game in front of thousands of fans.

At 12, she picked up a guitar and learned to write her own songs. Her family took regular trips to Nashville to shop her music around, and she wrote with local songwriters. After a few years, during which the family made the decision to move to nearby Hendersonville, Tenn., a showcase at the Bluebird Cafe caught the attention of music-industry veteran Scott Borchetta.

Hippiefest returns to Bethel Woods with another exciting superstar line-up. This year features performances from Eric Burdon & The Animals, Jack Bruce of Cream, The Turtles featuring Flo & Eddie, Melanie, Badfinger and Terry Sylvester (formerly of The Hollies). Tour creator Toby Ludwig explains, "This festival is for people who weren't around in the '60s and '70s or were and just can't seem to remember. Bring your parents, your grandparents and your kids. Maroon 5 will bring their mix of polished pop/rock and neo-soul with hit songs such as "This Love," "She Will Be Loved," "Harder to Breathe" and "Makes Me Wonder" from their multi-platinum releases Songs About Jane and It Won't Be Soon Before Long.

Counting Crows originated in Berkeley, California, and gained popularity in 1994 following the release of its debut album August and Everything After, which featured the hit single "Mr. Jones." The band's influences include Van Morrison, R.E.M., Nirvana, Bob Dylan, and The Band. They received a 2004 Academy Award nomination for the song "Accidentally in Love". Fronted by Adam Duritz, they wow audiences with their energetic, passionate live shows, frequently improvising on stage, adding new twists to familiar songs.

Both a gifted singer and accomplished pianist, who has received no formal training, Sara Bareilles continues her meteoric climb thanks to her powerful and soulful, yet sweet and gentle voice. She is currently burning up the charts with her follow up to 2007's "Love Song", which is at currently #2 on the Billboard Pop charts, and her CD, Little Voice is #7 on the Billboard Top 200. She has been compared to Norah Jones and Fiona Apple.

"The Burning Up Tour" kicks off in Toronto on July 4 and will see the band once again performing across America, headlining amphitheaters for the very first time. The Preservation Hall Jazz Band derives its name from Preservation Hall, the venerable music venue founded in 1961 by Allan and Sandra Jaffe in the heart of New Orleans' French Quarter. The band has traveled worldwide spreading their mission to nurture and perpetuate New Orleans Jazz. The Preservation Hall Jazz Band seeks to preserve music which evolved in New Orleans, and bring it to contemporary audiences. Bethel Woods is proud to present The Boston Pops Esplanade Orchestra with Keith Lockhart conducting. Otherwise known as "America's Orchestra," the Boston Pops, with conductor Keith Lockhart performs hundreds of shows in Boston, across the US and internationally. The annual 4th of July concert from the Esplanade in Boston attracts over 300,000 people and is viewed by more than 20 million on CBS. "Evening at Pops", the longest running concert program on television is broadcast nationwide 13 times each season. The evening will conclude with a spectacular fireworks display.

Exuberant energy, bewildering versatility, and a prodigious gift for both music and theater are but a few reasons Leonard Bernstein's unparalleled legacy lives on today. Hear Keith Lockhart and the Boston Pops celebrate his genius with selections from the ballet Fancy Free and the film score On the Waterfront, as well as John Williams' tribute "For Lenny." An ensemble cast featuring America's most talented rising stars will sing selections from his Broadway musicals On the Town, Wonderful Town, and West Side Story. On this 90th anniversary of his birth, experience how Bernstein's generosity of spirit touched millions of people.

Harvest Festival

Having evolved from a Sunday Farmers Market held on site over the past eight years, the Harvest Festival at Bethel Woods now attracts over 4,500 visitors a weekend to celebrate the bounty, beauty and talent of Sullivan County and surrounding areas.

Held every Sunday from late August to Columbus Day, the festival features a farmers market, craft village, live performances, corn and hay mazes, pony rides and more. Each week offers a new theme or special event sure to please the entire family.

A young, dynamic trio of classically-trained string musicians, Time for Three transcends traditional performance genres. In concert, a gypsy-tinged Czardas may follow a blue-grass standard like "Orange Blossom Special." Tf3 is equally comfortable offering their own arrangements of shorter classical works and popular hits, whether Brahms or the Beatles.
