Join our enthusiastic team of volunteers! Support the community, promote the arts and become a volunteer!
 
We are seeking volunteers who can commit to at least 50 hours/year for the following volunteer opportunities:
  • Docent or Gallery Assistant in the museum
  • Guest Services or Usher at the pavilion concerts
  • Guest Services at our community events including the Harvest Festival
  • Administration projects in our offices

To volunteer your time and talents at the area's premier performing arts center and museum, complete the online application ONLINE APPLICATION.

New volunteer orientation and training sessions include an introduction to Bethel Woods Center for the Arts, a visit through the museum, a tour of the site, a list of available volunteer opportunities and what they entail, instructions on how to use the www.myvolunteerpage.com web site to its fullest potential and an introduction to returning volunteers.
 
Returning volunteers are asked to attend the Returning Training Essentials that will cover changes to the program and updates on happenings at Bethel Woods.  
 
Volunteer positions include:
 
Museum Gallery Assistant - Assist visitors and staff in providing an enjoyable and educational experience in our two galleries. Volunteers serve 2.5 hour shifts seven days/week during the summer and spring; four days/week in the fall and winter months.
 
Museum Docent - Provide tours to our guests in the museum and around the site; extensive docent training about the '60s, the Woodstock festival and the site is provided in the form of videotapes, discussion groups and reading material.
 
Museum Education Assistant - Assist the Museum Education department in programming for students and researching data for various projects. Volunteers serve several hours per month.
 
Concert Service - Five to six hours per concert (3 concerts per month, minimum - May thru September) providing excellent guest service greeting guests, providing information, distributing programs, assisting those needing transportation assistance and ushering. No prior experience needed, but excellent "people skills" a must.
 
Harvest Festival - Greet guests at this event and/or help with children's and community activities. Seven Sundays from late August thru Columbus Day weekend, 2011.  
 
Administration - Two to four hours a week, assisting with office administrative activities in Operations, Community Outreach, HR, Volunteer Dept. and The Museum. Prior office and computer experience required.
