Anniversary Weekend Pre-Concert Festivities

Exclusive for concert ticket holders, celebrate anniversary weekend where it happened and where it’s happening still.

Bethel Woods’ Season of Song & Celebration promises a uniquely memorable experience for those who journey to the historic site throughout the entire year. To celebrate the 50th Anniversary of the greatest festival of all time on the hallowed ground where it actually happened, Bethel Woods will offer a variety of special programming for those attending Anniversary Weekend events, exclusive for concert ticket holders. Guests will be able to access the upper campus Friday, August 16 – Sunday, August 18 for the day(s) they have a purchased concert ticket for to enjoy a multitude of pre-show festivities, which will consist of live music, craft vendors, adult-art making, and games- all of which are included with in your concert ticket!  Also on-site will be a plethora of food and beverage options available to purchase.

As we will be at capacity during the Anniversary Weekend (August 15-18), the venue, including the Museum, historic site and parking areas, will be closed to the general public and only accessible to event/concert ticketholders. 

Anyone who wishes to visit during Anniversary Weekend must have an event ticket. and all attending an event/concert during Anniversary Weekend will need to have a Travel Pass to enter the traffic pattern of Bethel Woods. Please click here for Travel Pass FAQs.

The Writer's Den: Artists and film-makers who created Woodstock-era works will be on-site to sign books, show film clips and sell their work.

The Bindy Bazaar Trails

Originally were constructed for the Woodstock Festival to serve as a grouping of 20 booths where vendors sold crafts and clothing while also connecting two major areas of Festival grounds, the restoration of The Bindy Bazaar Trails, lets guests explore the area and see historic evidence of how the woods were used during the Festival.

Please note Bethel Woods will be closed to the general public during Anniversary Weekend.

Plan for Your Upcoming Concert Experience

  • General Policies

    For the safety and convenience of all guests, every person and vehicle on premises is subject to search at the venue. This search may include the use of metal detectors and hand searches of individuals and carried items.

    • We strongly urge all guests to budget additional time for entry into the venue when planning their visits. Any item or property that could affect the safety of the venue, its occupants or its property shall not be permitted into the venue. Bethel Woods reserves the right to prohibit or require removal of any items at their sole and absolute discretion. Any person that could affect the safety of the venue, its occupants or its property shall be denied entry.
    • For everyone’s safety, Bethel Woods conducts bag check inspections and walk through metal detection as part of security screening process.   All patrons are reminded to review our bag policy and prohibited items list before your arrival.  Upon your arrival at the security screening area be prepared to have your bag inspected and to remove all metal objects and place them in a provided container before walking through the metal detector.
    • The Box Office accepts will call from Ticketmaster only. We DO NOT accept will call from unauthorized ticketing companies or resellers. In order to pick-up tickets, you must have photo ID and the credit card used to purchase tickets.
    • All events are “Rain or Shine." In the event of severe weather, such as lightning in the area, a performance may be delayed until the threat subsides. In these circumstances guests may be asked to remain in their vehicles, or evacuated to their vehicles for safety. Information and updates will be available on 107.7 FM or via Bethel Woods social media channels. There will be no refunds, credits or exchanges offered.
    • Allow at least 20 minutes to travel from your vehicle to the pavilion and lawn areas
    • No re-entry upon exiting
    • Shirts and shoes are required for entry
    • We are a live concert venue and you should expect guests to occasionally stand and dance, especially at rock, country, pop and contemporary concerts
    • Bethel Woods has designated smoking areas at the rear walkway at the TOP of the lawn hill. Smoking is limited to this designated area only. There is NO SMOKING on the lawn, in the Pavilion or on the pathways. This includes the use of electronic cigarettes, e-cigarettes, cigars, pipes, and chewing tobacco. Non-compliance may result in a removal from the facility.

  • Clear Bag Policy

    As part of our continued commitment to public safety, guests will be able to carry only the following style and size bag, package or container into the venue and WILL BE SUBJECT TO A THOROUGH SEARCH

    APPROVED BAGS INCLUDE:

    • CLEAR BAGS MADE OF PLASTIC, VINYL OR PVC AND DO NOT EXCEED 12" X 6" X 12" Items in the bag must be in clear plastic bags (Ziploc bag or similar)
    • ONE GALLON CLEAR PLASTIC FREEZER BAG (Ziploc bag or similar)
    • SMALL CLUTCH BAGS, APPROXIMATELY THE SIZE OF A HAND, WITH OR WITHOUT A HANDLE OR STRAP CAN BE TAKEN INTO THE VENUE WITH ONE OF THE CLEAR PLASTIC BAGS

    PROHIBITED ITEMS INCLUDE, BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO:

    • Purses larger than a clutch bag, hard or soft coolers, briefcases, luggage of any kind, computer bags and camera bags or any bag larger than the permissible size
    • An exception will be made for medically necessary items after proper inspection

    • Clear bags are available for purchase at the Bindy Bazaar Museum Shop at Bethel Woods, as well as at the main gates on concert dates, in the parking lots, and at the front gate merchandise tent. 
    • Please note: there will be express entry lanes available for those who travel light.

  • Guest Experience

    Please visit us at the Designated Driver Tent located at the top of the lawn to receive a Designated Driver insignia at the beginning of each concert, up until the main act takes the stage. This insignia will let our vendors know that you are participating in the Designated Driver Program. Return your wristband to the tent at the end of the night to be entered to win a pair of 2020 Season Lawn Passes. *Only the driver of each party is eligible to participate.

  • Healey Brothers Parking Lot Guidelines

    Bethel Woods Center for the Arts prides itself in being a safe, family friendly environment for all guests. All guests must follow the directions and instructions provided by Bethel Woods staff security, and law enforcement. Bethel Woods permits tailgating under the conditions outlined in these Tailgating rules:

    • Patrons who do not have a ticket for the event may not park at Bethel Woods. Violators will be towed at the owner's expense and may be subject to law enforcement intervention.
    • Tailgating is not permitted once the main act takes the stage. Violators will be towed at the owner's expense and may be subject to law enforcement intervention.
    • One parking space per vehicle, including tailgating equipment and personal belongings is permitted. All items (vehicle, chairs, tents, cookers, etc.) must remain in the allotted parking space. Maintaining a clear aisle to accommodate emergency vehicles is imperative for maintaining a safe environment.
    • Guests are not permitted to reserve or save parking spaces for other guests. Groups desiring to tailgate together must arrive together to accommodate efficient and safe traffic flow.
    • Please drink responsibly when tailgating. Guests who appear to be impaired may not be allowed to enter the venue. Bethel Woods staff, security personnel and law enforcement will strictly enforce underage drinking policies in our parking lots.
    • Unauthorized soliciting, or the collection of contributions, vending, distribution of flyers, or other materials is not permitted.
    • Any person damaging Bethel Woods property will be responsible for the cost of repairs, including damages to grass, landscaping, fencing, furniture, or equipment.
    • While use of propane grills is permitted in parking lots, use of charcoal grills is prohibited. Fires built on the ground or any open fire pit devices are strictly prohibited.
    • Use of canopies during tailgating are permitted, however, NO GROUND STAKING is allowed on the blacktop, gravel, or grass. Please use sandbags or weights to secure your canopy.

    Please remember that Bethel Woods Center for the Arts is private property. Violating our policies or Code of Conduct may result in ejection from the property, the revocation of tickets and/or law enforcement intervention.

    All guests should cross roadways at the designated crosswalks, walk in the designated pedestrian walkways and should NOT WALK ON Hurd Road or West Shore Road.

    General parking at Bethel Woods is free of charge. Please be wary of local neighbors with homemade parking signs. These parking areas are typically longer walking distances to the venue and are not safely accessible from the venue. For your safety, please park in official designated Bethel Woods parking areas.

  • Please Feel Welcome to Bring:

    • Blankets
    • Clear tote bags not to exceed 12”x6”x12”​
    • Small clutch purses no larger than 5.5x8.5” (palm size)
    • Hand-held umbrellas are allowed.  No beach style or ground mounted umbrellas are permitted.
    • Small hand-held cameras that fit in the pocket of jeans. Larger cameras, including professional cameras with multiple lens capabilities, are NOT permitted. Based on the restrictions of certain artists, this policy may vary. 
    • Water - two 20 oz.  factory sealed plastic bottles of water per person. Please note - water is the only beverage permitted into Bethel Woods Center for the Arts concerts. (Vitamin Water or other variations are NOT permitted)
    • Food: a single 1 gallon clear zip lock bag per person

    • These chairs are available for $6.00 rental at the Box Office or PURCHASE ONLINE in advance.
    • Sporting equipment (including roller-blades, skateboards, bikes, hoverboards, and segways)
    • Bags including but not limited to: purses larger than a clutch bag, hard or soft coolers, briefcases, backpacks, luggage of any kind, computer bags and camera bags or any bag larger than the permissible size.
    • Beach style umbrellas
    • Aerosol cans including bug spray and sunscreen
    • Firearms, knives, fireworks
    • Glass of any kind (including bottles)
    • Laser pointers
    • Hula Hoops
    • Selfie Sticks
    • Audio and video recording equipment
    • Drones or unmanned aerial vehicles
    • Tablets (including but not limited to iPads and Kindles as they are a distraction to other guests and the artists)
    • Vapes
    • The use of charcoal grills are not permitted in the parking lots. Gas grills are permitted for use in the parking lots ONLY.
    • Some concerts may have additional restrictions. Please check individual event pages for specific restrictions.

    Guests are not permitted to bring in alcoholic beverages from outside and may not leave with alcohol purchased inside the venue. There is no claim-check area to store items. We ask that our guests avoid bringing prohibited items and return items to car prior to entry. Prohibited items may be discarded by owner without compensation from venue. 

    Event patrons and guests who violate the Code of Conduct, such as drunk and disorderly behavior or violation of any alcohol policy, will be subject to ejection without refund. Bethel Woods management reserves the right to discontinue the sale of alcohol at any time. 

  • Remember the show with a one of a kind poster!

    Commemorate your evening with a poster designed exclusively for Bethel Woods by artist and print-maker Dan Stiles. Posters are available in the Museum Shop, merchandise stand, and online! All proceeds go to Bethel Woods preservation efforts - keeping the legacy of the greatest festival of all time alive for future generations to be inspired by.
