Photography Workshop for Adults

An introductory photo course.
Intro to Photoshop

  • Please note that participants should bring their own cameras.

Creativity begins behind the lens, but is perfected behind the computer screen. 

Here is your opportunity to master the techniques needed to transform your pictures into creative photographic expression. Instructors Stacy Roerig and Shaun Gillen will guide you through the digital photography process from “how to use my new camera” to “editing my sister’s ex out of the photo.” 

Whether you are a beginner or intermediate photographer, you will gain insight to create compelling photography. The sessions will explore camera mechanics, light and composition, shooting the local landscape, and introduction to Photoshop for digital enhancement. This five week adventure will have you invigorated to capture all the beauty fall has to offer.

Please note that participants should bring their own cameras.

MEET YOUR INSTRUCTORS

Stacy Roerig

Stacy Roerig is currently an art educator teaching photography, computer graphics, beginning game design, and studio art courses at the high school level. She joined the Bethel Woods in 2019 as a teaching artist because she wanted to share her passion for the arts as well as inspire her students. She enjoys expressing herself creatively through the use of photography and painting.

Shaun Gillen

Shaun Gillen graduated from the Savannah College of Art and Design, with a Bachelor’s of Fine Arts in Photography, receiving the highest artist scholarship offered. He founded Tandem Design, a small multidisciplinary communications studio forged on the principles of promoting progressive causes. Over the past 10 years as a professional photographer and videographer in New York City, Shaun has shot a wide range of subject matter including promotional content for startup companies and progressive candidates to prominent real estate addresses and fortune 500 executives. He now resides full time with his partner upstate in Hortonville, New York.
