E3: Engage. Experience. Explore. Presents: Soul Inscribed
Middle School Performance
Bring your Middle School Class Out to Witness Hip Hop live!
On Monday, October 16th in The Event Gallery Middle Schools are invited to E3: Engage. Experience. Explore - Soul Inscribed.
Soul Inscribed - The New York based fourpiece band mixes up a brew of Hip Hop poetics and soulful vocals, propelled by a sonic blend of Jazz, Funk and Dub instrumentals.
Featuring MC/producer Baba Israel , vocalist Duv, saxophonist/flutist Sean Nowell and multiinstrumentalist/producer Yako 440 on guitar and bass (which he often plays simultaneously on stage).
Soul Inscribed flows seamlessly between crafted songs and improvisation grounded in the traditions of Jazz and Hip Hop . All four members are also human beatboxers who weave dynamic vocal percussion into their shows.
For their Bethel Woods Center for the Arts performance they will be joined by Hip Hop dancer Ken Fury, who has won over thirty of the top dance competitions and has had the honor to judge some of the largest dance events worldwide. Soul Inscribed members are also arts educators and have brought their music to young audiences across the world.
E3 gives participants the opportunity to engage, experience, and explore the arts through exposure to high quality performing groups. E3 seeks to inspire future artists, expose participants to innovative approaches to art, and encourage self-expression. Whether you are a teacher looking to expand your students’ classroom experiences in ways that support your Common Core goal or a parent seeking new avenues to expose and engage your children in the arts, there is an array of opportunities through E3 to discover, enrich, and expand your love of the arts at Bethel Woods Center for the Arts.
The involvement of Soul Inscribed was supported by New Music USA. To follow the project as it unfolds, visit our project page.
