WoodsTalk: Live presents a Fireside Chat
with Pop Culture Collector, Michael Stern, and Exhibit Curator Jill Silos-Rooney, Ph.D.
Join us in the Event Gallery for a one-hour WoodsTalk: Live event in support of The Museum at Bethel Woods’ current special exhibition, Love for Sale: The Commercialization of the Counterculture. Exhibit curator Jill Silos-Rooney, Ph.D., and popular culture collector Michael Stern will come together for a Fireside Chat with museum director Wade Lawrence to discuss the special exhibit from two perspectives: the historical and cultural themes and the collector’s instincts and motivations.
The discussion will be broadcast live on Facebook, and there will be plenty of time for questions and answers.
Atlanta-based Michael Stern is the author of several important price guides for Disney and Beatles collectibles and has shared his extensive collection for this very special exhibit. Jill Silos-Rooney is a popular culture scholar and associate professor with a deep love and appreciation for all things ‘60s.
WoodsTalk: Live invites dynamic and engaging speakers to Bethel Woods Center for the Arts to lead explorations into the power and possibilities of arts and humanities, inspiring us to think critically and provoking us to become engaged members of our communities. These events are live conversations where music, the ‘60s, and the value of arts and humanities will awaken the lessons of the past into their relevance today.
