PLAY Music Final Celebration
Join us in celebration of PLAY Music process and participants
Join us Saturday July 29 at 10 AM in the Event Gallery for the culminating celebration of P.L.A.Y.: Music in collaboration with the Mannes School of Music at the College of Performing Arts at The New School! The participants have been working joyfully for three weeks, and want to share what they have learned with you!
P.L.A.Y.: Music is a three-week exploration of collaborative music making between skilled musicians and youth ages of 9–15. The musically inclined and those who want to explore music learning, creation, and participation were encouraged to join. Anchored in social engagement with exposure to multiple music genres, this program values the contributions of each participant, highlights the importance of working as a team, and inspires participants and observers alike to feel supported in their exploration of the arts.
P.L.A.Y. Programs are made possible in part by a grant from the John N. Blackman Sr. Funding for arts and humanities, outreach and museum programming is provided by generous individuals, foundations and agencies including: Resorts World Catskills, American Gift Fund, AT&T Foundation, John N. Blackman Sr. Foundation, Annelise Gerry and Family, Robyn Gerry, IBM, Joan Kaplan, the William and Elaine Kaplan Family Foundation, the Monticello Motor Club, the Museum Association of New York, the New York State Council on the Arts with the support of Governor Andrew Cuomo and the New York State Legislature, the Rea Charitable Trust, the Rhulen Loughlin Family -- in memory of Trevor John Loughlin, James and Kelly Schmitt and Stewarts Shops.
