Slow Food Italian Style

Chefs Giosue “Rino” Silvestro and Giacomo Paladino arrive straight from Naples, Italy to bring local ingredients and “food is love” to the forefront.

Join us Thursday, August 23rd at the Conservatory at Bethel Woods.

The Director of Promotion for Slow Food Napoli and Master of Cheese and Oils, "Rino" Silvestro will share Napolitano secrets and serve up local organic ingredients from Willow Wisp Farm “Italian style.” Participants will sample Itlaian cheese, oil, and wine. You will also learn how to cook a traditional starter and main course! Rino’s colleague Giacomo Palladino serves as kitchen assistant, translator and storyteller and may just belt out a few traditional songs! Get your tickets now—culinary events have limited seats and sell out quickly.

“Slow Food is a global, grassroots organization, founded in 1989 to prevent the disappearance of local food cultures and traditions and counteract the rise of fast food culture. Since its beginnings, Slow Food has grown into a global movement involving millions of people in over 160 countries, working to ensure everyone has access to good, clean and fair food. Slow Food believes that by understanding responsibility in daily choices we come to appreciate the cultural and social importance of food. Our education projects differ from most food education as they are based on the idea that food means pleasure, culture and conviviality.”
