The Art of Wellness, facilitated by Licensed Creative Arts Therapist Candace Rivela, is an opportunity to connect with fellow community members around themes of resilience, health, and wellness in a non-judgmental space to grow and heal. Group Creative Arts Therapy encourages the exploration of one’s self in relation to others, promotes a flow of creative energy, and allows for the fluid exchange of ideas and emotions unbound by the limits of verbal expression. It is our goal with these free and creative sessions to provide a safe space for people to connect, communicate, and create with peers who share interests. 

Research shows that practicing gratitude regularly is key to a healthy mindset and can make us feel better about where we are in life. What creative ways do you practice gratitude? Learn a new one by creating a gratitude box, which can evolve over time and serve as a daily reminder of all the things you are thankful for.

Meet Your Teaching Artist:

Candace Rivela

Candace Rivela is a Board Certified, Licensed Creative Arts Therapist. She received a bachelor's degree in Fine Arts from SUNY New Paltz and a master's degree in Art Therapy and Creativity Development from Pratt Institute. Candace is the Lead Teaching Artist in Museum Education and Creation Programs at Bethel Woods, helping to further development of the Teaching Artist Program. 

About The Program:

Group Creative Arts Therapy encourages the exploration of one’s self in relation to others, promotes a flow of creative energy, and allows for the fluid exchange of ideas and emotions unbound by the limits of verbal expression. Group sessions will explore specific themes around wellness.  Art of Wellness is designed for adults to practice optimal well-being in body and mind.
