The Art of Wellness, facilitated by Licensed Creative Arts Therapist Candace Rivela, is an opportunity to connect with fellow community members around themes of resilience, health, and wellness in a non-judgmental space to grow and heal. Group Creative Arts Therapy encourages the exploration of one’s self in relation to others, promotes a flow of creative energy, and allows for the fluid exchange of ideas and emotions unbound by the limits of verbal expression. It is our goal with these free and creative sessions to provide a safe space for people to connect, communicate, and create with peers who share interests.
Essential oils and herbs are known to have many therapeutic benefits for both mind and body. Did you ever notice how some aromas can immediately bring you a sense of calm and inner peace, or energize and awaken you? After a basic introduction to essential oils and their uses, we’ll be making some aromatic creations that you can take home, like lavender satchels and sage sticks.

Candace Rivela is a Board Certified, Licensed Creative Arts Therapist. She received a bachelor's degree in Fine Arts from SUNY New Paltz and a master's degree in Art Therapy and Creativity Development from Pratt Institute. Candace is the Lead Teaching Artist in Museum Education and Creation Programs at Bethel Woods, helping to further development of the Teaching Artist Program.

In this session, we bring an expert from the community to facilitate a guided meditation for beginners. Practicing quieting your mind and calming your worries can help you to gain fresh perspective during stressful times.
