Your Instructor: Catherine Chesters
Catherine is a multi-disciplinary artist based in Sullivan County, New York. Born in County Durham, England, she received a BH Honors from the London College of Communication, Higher National Diploma in Design Communications from Suffolk College, and OND in Graphic Design at Durham New College. Catherine’s work combines her astute observations of nature and human psyche, realized through mixed media, printing techniques, abstract painting & mark making. Her work generates a surreal visual that maintains a naive optimism, while contrasting the influence of rural landscapes with decades of city living. Catherine is excited to begin teaching at Bethel Woods and working with the local community.
