The trio will discuss the history and evolution of the liquid light art form from the 1960s to today, inspired by the 2021 Special Exhibit, Lights, Color, Fashion.

Visual artists Chris Georges and Gregory Thrasher create psychedelic light shows and projections for bands all over New York City. Using ‘60s techniques updated with modern tools, Macrodose aim to create one of a kind live visuals with liquids, video synthesis and cameras to give concertgoers a synesthetic experience. There are no laptops used and they do not press play, everything is live and manipulated by hand. Learn more here.
Senior Curator; The Museum at Bethel Woods
Dr. Hitch is a historian, preservation architect, museum specialist, and musician who has been working for over 25 years in developing historic sites and museums. Before joining Bethel Woods in January of 2020, Dr. Hitch worked in several premier destinations, serving as director of museums in the Caribbean, Hawaiʻi, Alaska, and on the border of Mexico in California. For the last decade, he has also been working within the design collective i/thee leading art and architecture camps and designing large-scale inhabitable artworks.
This exhibit showcases a phenomenal ensemble of San Francisco rock posters and fashion from the kaleidoscopic years of 1964 to 1972 gathered by collector Gary Westford. Highlights of the exhibit include rock posters by all of the “Big Five” poster artists and a light show by renowned San Francisco light artist Bill Ham. Learn more here.
