Make music on the historic site of the 1969 Woodstock Music and Art Fair.

Students go “behind the music” to learn composition through individual lessons and small group ensemble work with a focus on vocal and instrumental work.  Anchored in social engagement, participants will explore the instruments, music styles, and subject matter that inspires them to write lyrics and create their own meaningful songs. We highlight the importance of working as a team while celebrating each individual’s contribution. No previous experience required! We welcome artists of all abilities!

The program concludes in a musical share event of their work on August 30.

For your children's safety, this program will be offered in limited capacity. Apply for P.L.A.Y. below:

About P.L.A.Y.

Bethel Woods’ Peace. Love. Arts. You. program invites children ages 5-15 to explore creative arts in a socially-distant way at the historic festival site of the 1969 Woodstock Music and Art Fair. The Conservatory and brand-new education building Atria will house four different youth programs, offering unique opportunities for skill development in a variety of ways, from art and music to movement and theater.

Led by Bethel Woods Teaching Artists and special guests, children will explore history, art, music, and the environment to ignite creative imagination. Program participants will enjoy plenty of outdoor time as well as access to The Museum collections and special exhibitions as part of the adventure.
