Performing songs created by the most iconic musicians in rock history.

Founded in 2014 by independent concert promoter Peter Shapiro and educator Amy Striem, The Rock and Roll Playhouse is the largest national kid-friendly live concert series having performed to hundreds of thousands of kids and their families. It has hosted over 1,000 shows in more than 35 leading live music venues across the United States, filling the void for shared musical experiences between parents and children across the country.

The Rock and Roll Playhouse, a family concert series hosted at historic music venues across the country, allows kids to “move, play and sing while listening to works from the classic-rock canon” (NY Times). The Rock and Roll Playhouse band offers its core audience of families with children age ten and under games, movement, stories and an opportunity to rock out in an effort to educate children and explore their creativity. The Rock and Roll Playhouse is an early and often first introduction to a child’s lifelong journey with live music and rock and roll. See you at the show!

ABOUT THE SERIES:

Rock and Roll for all ages! The Family Concert Series returns to Bethel Woods this summer to the Horizon Stage with a fun and interactive performance for children. In an effort to make live experiences affordable and accessible for all ages, the series will follow a “pay-what-you-can” model, with suggested donations at $5, $10, and $15 per person. *Food and drink are available for purchase at Yasgur’s Farm Café.

Support for this series is made possible by the Rea Charitable Trust, the William and Elaine Kaplan Family Foundation, Stewart’s Shops and by Bethel Woods Members and Donors. View a copy of our annual report or click here  for a more comprehensive list of supporters.

The Rock and Roll Playhouse knows that little ears are sensitive, so we turn down the volume at our shows.  However, all kids experience music differently and you may find that your child is more comfortable wearing hearing protection earmuffs, such as Baby Banz, which are available for purchase here.
