Join Susan Medoza of the Chi Hive for a gentle yoga class. Though it has a beginner nature to it, this slow and steady practice is wonderful for anyone, no matter how "advanced" one may be.

The class introduces grounding movements, focused breath work, and short mindful meditation to calm the mind and free energy that may be stuck in body.

About The Instructor

Susan Mendoza has been teaching and practicing yoga and mindfulness for 20+ years and has an extensive, professional background in movement, fitness, voice and theatre. She continues to deepen her own practice of living a mindful life, embodying inclusivity and antiracist values. She is passionate about building strong, healthy relationships and about guiding practitioners into a world of self-inquiry in order to live better in their bodies, mentally, physically and emotionally. Some of her training includes; Yoga 12 Step Recovery for those living with and affected by addiction and trauma recovery, Marma therapeutic technique, Yoga Tune Up, Trauma Sensitive Yoga Training with David Emmerson and LGBTQ(i) competency training. Susan was born on the hearty Island of Newfoundland, Canada and lives in Narrowsburg with her wonderful family, chickens, sheep and goats!

About The Series:

Our Winer Wellness series offers the community weekly opportunities at the start of the new year to connect safely with others around themes of new beginnings, self-care, health and wellness. Classes vary from expressive arts activities that promote a flow of creative energy to mind-body practices to warm the body and spirit such as yoga, dance, and sound healing. Classes are facilitated by rotating guest artists and wellness practitioners from the local area.
