About Vibrations:

Bethel Woods will present a series of live conversations, demonstrations, workshops and round tables throughout the year, the content of which will be derived from The Museum, special exhibits, and of course, Woodstock’s golden anniversary. This series of events titled, Vibrations celebrates the power and possibility of the sixties, and what that decade means to us today. The series launches in 2019 with eight unforgettable events bringing together change-makers, artists, and influencers to open conversations, inspire thinking and awaken purpose. Emphasizing the value of the arts and civic engagement, Vibrations brings the legacy of the past into conversation with the movements of today.

Some events planned include, but are not limited to:

Deep Field - May 18, 2019

60 years after the moon landing, Grammy-winning composer Eric Whitacre presents “Deep Field” inspired by the world’s most famous space observatory, the Hubble Space Telescope, and its greatest discovery – the iconic Deep Field image. Deep Field will take place on the same weekend as Bethel Wood’s Lunar Weekend.

Film on the Field - Memorial Day Weekend

A screening of the Warner Bros. Academy-Award winning documentary Woodstock: the Director’s Cut will be held on the historic festival field. It is an experience unlike any other to watch the documentary that chronicles the emergence of the Counterculture movement on the very field where it happened and was filmed a half-century ago.

Power of the Poster - June 5, 2019

The Woodstock festival of 1969 spawned one of the most recognizable posters of the century with its signature bird and guitar celebrating “3 Days of Peace & Music.” Fifty years later, Bethel Woods launches a poster contest to capture how this spirit of creativity and community continues.

PBS The American Experience - July 25, 2019 (Tentative)

PBS’s American Experience Woodstock examines the years leading up to the concert that defined a decade through the perspectives of those who experienced it. During this multifaceted film screening, audiences and press experience this American Experience original, hear from filmmakers and enjoy cocktails and hors d’oeuvres.

Mind: Body: Earth - August 31 & September 1, 2019

During this two-day festival, audiences will join leaders in health, sustainability and mindfulness to explore how wellness leads to kindness and civility. Attendees will celebrate the earth, learn about how to promote sustainability in their own lives, and engage in mindfulness and wellness activities.

Songs for Change - September 2019

Youth Leadership Day - September 2019
