Musicians, Singers, Actors and Creatives this is your stage! Over the course of two weeks, participants will dive into the world of rock inspired musical theater.
Led by seasoned musicians and theater professionals, your child will explore the vibrant history and artistry of rock opera, gaining insight on the genre's dramatic narratives, powerful melodies, and dynamic performances by studying iconic classics to contemporary masterpieces.
Students will select from three program tracks: Pit Orchestra, Costume and Set design, or Performance. Through a combination of workshops, rehearsals, and collaborative projects, musical talents, stage presence, and teamwork skills will all be developed. From vocal coaching and instrument instruction to staging and design, every aspect of the rock opera experience will be explored.
Rock Opera culminates in a final performance, where campers take to the stage to showcase their hard work, passion, and creativity.
About the Series
Peace. Love. Arts. You. Programs invite children ages 5-15 to explore the creative arts this summer at beautiful Bethel Woods, historic site of the 1969 Woodstock Music and Art Fair!
P.L.A.Y. Special offerings create a unique opportunity for children ages 10-15 to hone in on the specifics of various arts modalities from art and music to film and theater in very specialized two-week long sessions. Guided by our Bethel Woods Teaching Artists and selected special guests, participants will engage, connect, and deepen their skills while weaving together Bethel Woods themes of community, caring, and creativity.
