Make the Most of Your Visit

  • Plan to spend at least an hour and a half to two hours exploring the Museum exhibits. We recommend arriving earlier in the day rather than later. The main exhibit offers 21 short films, several interactive exhibits, and many fun and interesting artifacts to see and read about. Special exhibits (if scheduled) are included with regular museum admission and are located on the lower level in the Special Exhibit Gallery and in the Corridor Gallery.
  • Make a day of it! Enjoy the museum exhibits, walk the Woodstock festival site (closed on most Pavilion concert days), visit the Woodstock monument at the corner of Hurd Road and West Shore Road, shop in our Museum Shop, and enjoy a snack or meal at our Yasgur’s Farm Cafe in the museum lobby. Check the Bethel Woods calendar for concerts, films, special tours, educational programs, and other events that will make your visit extra special. ->link to Events/Calendar
  • The museum is climate-controlled to preserve the exhibits and provide a comfortable experience for our guests. If you plan to explore the Woodstock festival site and see the monument, you’ll want to wear comfortable walking shoes. The grassy festival site slopes downward toward West Shore Road, and while the walk down might be easy, please be aware that the walk up the hill could be a bit difficult for young children or visitors with mobility issues. Always check the weather before your visit and dress accordingly.
  • There is no smoking allowed anywhere inside the museum building. Smoking is allowed at designated outdoor areas.
  • There is no food or drink allowed inside The Museum exhibits or in our Museum Shop. This includes children’s juice boxes or any snacks.
  • Photography is allowed in the museum for personal, non-commercial use. For the benefit of other museum guests, we ask that you do not use flash or other supplemental lighting and that you not use tripods, monopods, or other bulky equipment in the museum.
  • Service animals are ALWAYS welcome, but please leave pets at home. Pets are not allowed at Bethel Woods Center for the Arts (including the museum), and leaving your pet in the car can be deadly.
