First Timer's Guide

Everything You Need to Know Before You Arrive

Set on the historic grounds of the 1969 Woodstock festival, Bethel Woods is unlike any other venue. Watch our quick guide and check the list below so you arrive prepared.

  • Download the Ticketmaster app & load your ticket before you leave home — don't wait until you're in line. The SafeTix ticket uses a rotating barcode that refreshes every 15 seconds. Screen captures will not work.
  • Bring only a clear bag (12″×12″×6″ max) or a small (4.5″×6.5″) clutch purse
  • Arrive at least 90 minutes before showtime, heavy traffic expected
  • Allow 20+ minutes to walk from parking to the main entry, then more to the Pavilion
  • We are cashless — we accept credit cards, debit cards, and mobile payments (Apple & Google Pay).
  • No re-entry once you exit the venue gates

Clear bags 12″×12″×6″ max. One small non-clear clutch (4.5″×6.5″) per person. All bags inspected at entry.

  • Water: Up to two factory-sealed plastic bottles (20 oz. or less) per person
  • Reusable bottle: One empty plastic bottle (32 oz. or less) per person
  • Food: One gallon-size clear zip-lock bag per person
Prohibited Items
  • Outside beverages beyond those listed above
  • Metal/ aluminum / glass reusable bottles.
  • Cameras with detachable lenses; professional audio/video equipment; drones
  • Weapons of any kind, including concealed carry firearms
  • Beach-style Umbrellas
  • Personal folding chairs (rentals available on-site)
  • Aerosol spray cans (sunscreen/bug spray)

Credit Cards, Debit Cards, and Mobile Payments (Apple & Google Pay) accepted everywhere. Prepaid debit cards are available for purchase at the Museum Shop which can then be used throughout the venue.

Pre-schedule
Drivers must arrive by 10:15 PM. The Hurd Road entrance closes to incoming traffic after that time.

Confirm with your driver that they will arrive by 10:15 PM and will wait for you to exit the venue.

Turn left at crosswalk and walk along the path on Hurd Rd. to meet your driver in the designated waiting area.

Be sure to check out our custom letterpress art poster, hand-inked in Nashville on vintage presses by one of America's oldest print shops — the same shop that made posters for Elvis, the Grand Ole Opry, and Woodstock. Limited quantities available at the Museum Store Outpost inside the venue. Available in person, Saturday, May 30th.

Proceeds directly support our nonprofit arts programs.

Frequently Asked Questions

No re-entry once you exit through the venue gates. Make sure you have everything before entering.
Small personal blankets are permitted on the lawn. Beach-style umbrellas are NOT allowed. Personal folding chairs are not permitted; lawn chair rentals are available on-site.
A bag check area is available for bags that don't meet the clear bag policy. Space is limited — first come, first served.
During the event: visit the main information booth near the entry gates. After the event: bethelwoodscenter.org/lost-found
Only service animals are permitted. Do not leave animals in vehicles.
No general age requirement. Guests under 18 should be accompanied by a parent or guardian. Guests under 21 observed with alcohol will be ejected, including from parking lots.
Designated area at the rear walkway at the top of the lawn hill only. No smoking on the lawn, in the Pavilion, or on pathways. Includes e-cigarettes, cigars, pipes, and chewing tobacco.
Plan on approximately 20 minutes from parking to the Main Entry gate, plus additional walking to the Pavilion stage. Wear comfortable shoes. A Transportation Assistance Shuttle is available free of charge for guests with mobility needs.
