Event Details
Discover the basics of drawing the human form in a supportive, beginner-friendly environment. Using a live model, participants will learn simple techniques for observing proportions, posture, and movement, while practicing quick gesture sketches and basic shading. The class focuses on building confidence, exploring different drawing materials, and encouraging creative expression. No prior experience is necessary.
Winter Wellness at Bethel Woods Center for the Arts: Embracing themes of new beginnings, self-care, and overall health and wellness, the classes offer a diverse range of experiences. From expressive arts activities that ignite a creative flow to gentle mind-body practices like yoga and sound healing that warm both the body and spirit. Facilitated by a rotation of guest artists and wellness practitioners from the local area, these classes offer a holistic approach to well-being.
About Malik Titus Bridges
Malik Titus Bridges is a Catskill mountain, Sullivan County based multidisciplinary artist known for pushing boundaries. With a practice spanning painting, music, and creative direction, he's showcased his work in notable exhibitions, including New York Fashion Week and Art Among the Vines. His art blends positivity and depth, reflecting his commitment to innovative experiences. Recent highlights include a three-month residency at The Black Library, creative direction for a 2024 fashion show, and for the last two years teaching roles at Bethel Woods Center for the Arts' in various programs. The Academy, an immersive after school program. Fine art where he's led a two week comic book creation and prop-making from cardboard just to name a couple. With a growing presence in the Hudson Valley and NYC art scenes, Malik continues to explore new frontiers in art and collaboration.
About Jorge Colombo
Jorge Colombo has worked as an illustrator, as a photographer, and as graphic designer for over 40 years. He's best known for the digital images he has been creating since 2009 (initially finger-painting on an iPhone; currently using an Apple Pencil and the Procreate app on an iPad Pro.)
Four 20x200.com print editions released in April 2009 led to his first cover for The New Yorker, the first magazine cover ever created on a smartphone. His images continue appearing in The New Yorker and other publications. A collection of one hundred NYC views, "New York: Finger Paintings by Jorge Colombo," was published in 2011 by Chronicle Books, in collaboration with 20x200.
He was born in 1963 in Lisbon, Portugal, and moved to the USA in 1989. After living in Chicago, San Francisco, New York City, and Brooklyn, he lives in Narrowsburg, NY with his wife, artist Amy Yoes, and their two black cats, Inky and Sharpie.
