Discover the gentle power of movement through this introductory Tai Chi class designed for all levels. Tai chi, often described as “meditation in motion”, is an ancient and beautiful martial art that enhances balance, strength, and flexibility. Participants will learn foundational postures and flowing sequences that promote balance, flexibility, and relaxation. Rooted in mindfulness and breath awareness, Tai Chi helps calm the mind while improving strength and coordination. This class offers a peaceful way to reduce stress, restore energy, and reconnect with your body’s natural rhythm.
Winter Wellness at Bethel Woods Center for the Arts: Embracing themes of new beginnings, self-care, and overall health and wellness, the classes offer a diverse range of experiences. From expressive arts activities that ignite a creative flow to gentle mind-body practices like yoga and sound healing that warm both the body and spirit. Facilitated by a rotation of guest artists and wellness practitioners from the local area, these classes offer a holistic approach to well-being.
About Mike Konecni
Mike Konecni teaches Yang-style 24 form Tai Chi as a practice of harmony between body, mind, and nature. Rooted in two years of Tai Chi and three years of Zazen meditation, his approach emphasizes stillness within movement and awareness within breath. Mike also trains in Hung Gar Kung Fu, exploring the balance between strength and softness. Beyond the practice hall, he finds the same meditative flow while fly fishing and walking in the quiet of the outdoors.
